How to use the mod manager LifePlay Mods Flix?
Double click on LifePlay Mods Flix.exe, a window will open.This window is separated into two areas:
1- The left side is the list of all available mods/updates.
This is where all downloadable modules and addons are listed.
If you double-click on one of the mods, a page dedicated to the mod you clicked on will open presenting all the information about this module
2- The right side is your local installation.
This is your LifePlay installation with all the mods that are currently installed.
To launch LifePlay click the green "Launch Game" button in the bottom right corner.

Top menu
Currently, you have 6 buttons:Main - More Maps - List Editor - Modding - Tools - Help
Main button:
- Force XML reload - For forcing a refresh of the repo (can be useful sometime)
- Close LP Mod Flix - To close the application.
- Setup LMF - This section allows you to modify, to your taste, the colors of some sections of LifePlay Mods Flix.
More Maps:
Clicking on this button will open your browser and redirect you to the list of maps, hosted on Mega website.
List Editor:
Allows you to edit the lists of names available for each of the NPCs and some clothing lists.
Depending on your PC and the size of the file, some lists may take a while to download.

Edit LifePlay name list:
When you click on this button, a file explorer window will open.
Choose your file and it will open in your default editor.
Edit LifePlay name list:
By clicking on this button, a window will open.
This window is separated into two areas:
Displaying two lists of names, female and male that are currently available in the game.
How to edit these lists:
- Select one or more names in one of the lists, and edit them directly.
- Once you have finished your modifications, import them via the orange button "Import to Files", on the left bottom of the window.
- Click on the Save button, to create a backup of your changes. A folder named ".LifePlayModFlix" will be automatically created, containing a file named "nameList.txt", containing your lists.
- Create a text file in notepad and create your list of names.
- names_F.txt : For a list of female names
- names_M.txt : For a list of male names
- Add one name per line.
- Save your list.
- Next, open the Modules folder (...\LifePlay\Content\Modules) and add your list, which will replace the existing one.

Create LP file
These files offer you a quick way to build a part of your mods.
When you click on one of these buttons, a window will open displaying a form to be filled in.
The generated file will be available in the same location as your application, inside "LPCreation/LPFiles/MyMods/your_modfolder".
This section is mainly used to create a mod, so before you start creating lpactions, lpmod, ... make sure you have created/added at least one mod in the folder:
LPCreation/LPFiles/MyMods/your_modfolder
Create LP file
If this is the first time you use these options:
- Click on "Create folders"
- Fill the form then click "Create Folder"
- If instead, you click on "Create Default Folders", it create all the default folders of a mod.*
- Good, the main folder of your mod is finished, you can now start creating files!

*For lpaction files, a folder called "Actions" will be created, if none exists, and your file will be placed inside it.*For lpactions files, a folder called "Actions" will be created, if none exists, and your file will be placed inside it.
*For lpstat files, a folder called "Stats" will be created, if none exists, and your file will be placed inside it.
*For lpquest files, a folder called "Quests" will be created, if none exists, and your file will be placed inside it. Rename this folder if you intend to creates other quests.

Tools button:
- Backup Modules folder
- Backup AppData saves - To create a backup of the local SaveGames folder
- Backup InGame saves - To create a backup of the LifePlay Saves folder

Backup Modules folder
When you click on this button, a window opens and displays a form with three messages and four buttons.
When saving the Modules folder, ignore the three messages.
Just click on "Backup Modules folder", it will make a copy of the "Modules" folder inside: LPCreation\LPBackups\LPUpdate\Modules
Updating LifePlay
When you click on this button, a window opens and displays a form with three messages and four buttons.
The first message reminds you to make sure you have added your zip file to the LPUpdate folder. If the LPUpdate folder does not exist, it will be created automatically.
The second message tells you if everything is ok!
The third message tells you the reason for the problem or allows you to continue.
The first button is used to make a backup of your Modules folder.
The second button is used to update LifePlay.
The third button is used to install LifePlay.
To install or update LifePlay, you just have to add your zip file in the folder:
LPCreation\LPBackups\LPUpdate
Your zip can be:
LifePlay_...bit_UpdateOnly.7z
OR
LifePlay_...bit.7z
If these folders do not exist, simply open the form to update LifePlay, and the folders will be created, then add your zip.
Click "Full Install" to install a new version of LifePlay
OR
Click "Update Only" for apply updates only.
Creating a backup of your save folders:
When you click to create a backup of the local SaveGames or for the Ingame saves folder
An two folders (LPCreation/LPBackup) will be created automatically at the location of your application, if none exists.
Backup AppData saves
When you click to create a backup of the local SaveGames folder.
The "Saved" folder located here: ...\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\LifePlay, will be copied to the LPBackup folder.
Backup InGame saves
When you click to create a backup of the in-game Saves folder.
The "Saves" folder located here: ...\LifePlay\Content, will be copied to the LPBackup folder.

Installing mods and addons - Go Top
To install or update a module/addon from the repository, simply select a mod from the box on the left and click the Update button (blue button).LifePlay Mods Flix will download the files and automatically install them in the LifePlay game folder (...\LifePlay\Content\Modules).
New mods are enabled by default and will be added to the bottom of the local install list (right window).
On the dedicated page of the mod:
You can also install each mod separately via their dedicated page. By clicking on the green button "Install This Mod", on the top right of the page.
If the mod is already installed, the button will be red and disabled.
The advantage of this page is, more details and it shows you exactly if there are required mods to install.
Updating mods and addons - Go Top
If there is an update available in the mods, a message will be displayed indicating the number of mods that need to be updated and they will get an "Updated" tag.Double click it, to install the update or click "Update all installed modules" button (orange button).
On the dedicated page of the mod:
You can also update each mod separately via their dedicated page. By clicking on the orange button "Update This Mod", on the top right of the page.
If the mod is already updated, the button will be red and disabled.
Module priority - Go Top
There is no priority, but order in LifePlay Mods Flix is bottom up, so everything that is at the end of the module list, has the higher priority. (This is used only for patches.)To move a module to a higher / lower priority just drag & drop it to the desired position in the local list.
Disabling / Enabling modules - Go Top
Installed modules can be disabled at any moment by double-clicking them. They will get a [Disabled] label.Double click again to enable them again.
You cannot disable lpaddons, the in game editors will always "see" presets supplied by these addons unless you delete the faulty addon.
Deleting a module - Go Top
To delete a mod: Just select the one you don't need, from the right window, then click the red "Delete selected module" button (red button). The module will be erased permanently.Locating a module - Go Top
If you click on a module (left or right window) the counterpart (if any) will automatically be selected in the opposite list. This will help you to find the respective module.Dedicated page for each mod - Go Top
This page offers many more details about the mod, including:- A picture of the mod
- A longer description of the mod
- Name of the modder
- Names of its contributors, if any.
- The type of mod
- Its categories (3 max)
- The version of the mod
- Date of its last update
- Its ID
- List of required mods, if any.
- A link to its dedicated page on the R.K forum
- A link to its source code, if any.
- A link to its Patreon page, if any.
- An install/update button
If you click on the name of the modder, the window will close and in the box listing the available mods will be changed to show you only the mods created by this modder.
If you click on the name of the type of mod (Mod, Addon,...), the window will close and in the box listing the available mods will be changed to show you only this type of mods.
If you click on one of the categories of this mod, the window will close and in the box listing the available mods, will be changed to show you only the mods contained in this category.
To refresh the list of available mods, click on the green icon at the top of this box.
Required mods section...
If you click on one of the mods in the list, the window will refresh and show you the details of the mod.
If one of the required mods is already installed, it will be tagged "Installed".
Updating LifePlay Mods Flix to a newer version: - Go Top
- Go to your LifePlay installation
- Find LifePlayModFlix.exe : ...\LifePlay_5_27_64bit\LifePlayModFlix.exe
- Delete LifePlayModFlix.exe and/or replace with the new LifePlayModFlix.exe
